About the Department

The Department of Anesthesia and Reanimation, like all other departments in our hospital, is part of a continuous orientation by participating in routine training and meetings. Thus, information sharing and exchange of ideas between the departments is ensured, and the operations to be performed are carried out by taking into consideration the comments of physicians specialized in different fields.

The Department of Anesthesia and Reanimation, which combines all the technological equipment offered by modern medicine with the professional approaches of specialist physicians and healthcare team, provides services in the best conditions and at the highest standards.

Types of Anesthesia
During the operation, you will be given medication called anesthesia, which is given to relieve the sensation of pain. Before the surgery, an anesthesiologist will decide on the anesthesia medicines you will receive. Your doctor will review your health condition and medical history to plan the appropriate type of anesthesia for the surgery.

There are various forms of anesthesia. The type of anesthesia you will receive depends on the type of surgery and your health condition. Sedatives (to induce sleep) and analgesics (to relieve pain) are also used as part of the anesthesia process. The types of anesthesia are as follows:

Local Anesthesia
Local anesthetics are anesthetic agents given to stop the sensation of pain in a specific part of the body. You are conscious while under local anesthesia. For minor surgery, local anesthesia can be given by injection into the area or absorbed into the skin. In cases where a large area needs to be numbed, or where the local anesthetic injection does not penetrate deep enough, doctors use different types of anesthesia.

Regional anesthesia
Regional anesthesia is used to numb a certain part of the body during surgery. Local anesthesia is usually injected into the nerves responsible for providing sensation in a certain part of the body. There are several types of regional anesthesia.
